Rob Aspinall presents “Your Life Is Coming”, a creative celebration of music, dance, and community in light of his forthcoming debut EP. Rob is a Melbourne-based Alt-Soul artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer blending R&B, neo-soul, jazz and hip hop into rich, emotionally resonant soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei and Allen Stone, his sound is defined by lush instrumentation, complex progressions, and a refusal to play small when it comes to his vocal arrangements. Over the last 2 years, Rob has built the foundation of his career in the Melbourne community as an independent producer and artist working across R&B, Soul, Jazz and Pop. After growing up in Canberra where he discovered his love for music and production, Rob knew that Melbourne was the next step in his journey to connect with the communities in music and street dance, and to push his craft further than before. This move came with a lot of motivation, but also a lot of hardship, leaving his family and friends, not knowing if he would find his place and create sustainability in his new home, and trying to navigate the ups and downs of a production career whilst pursuing his own artistry. The last 2 years in Melbourne culminated in the music making up Rob’s debut EP “Your Life Is Coming”, with a wide array of writing and production approaches highlighting Rob’s journey of ‘figuring it out along the way’, striving for progress rather than perfection, and the title track being a mantra for those in the same situation in the hopes they will persevere towards their dreams and find their way.
