SInging John Rutter's Magnificat - Conductor for Exeter Festival Chorus and formerly a professional soprano, Andrea Brown is renowned as a leading UK choral conductor. She is Head of Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and holds masterclasses for choirs and conductors in the UK and abroad. We look forward to benefiting from her considerable expertise and enjoying her style of conducting which has been described as having ‘spirit and vitality, with musical integrity always at its core.’ John Rutter's Magnificat draws inspiration from both liturgical traditions and exuberant Latin American musical styles combining rhythmic energy, lyrical warmth, and moments of reflective devotion in its setting of the Latin Magnificat text traditionally associated with the Virgin Mary’s song of praise. The day will end with an informal performance for family and friends at 1600 , finishing at approximately 1630.
