- Ever wanted to write your own song but didn’t know where to start, or have you already begun your songwriting journey? Our interactive songwriting workshop takes you through the creative process of turning your ideas, experiences and inspirations into your very own song. You’ll explore the artists and music that inspire you, discover how to turn stories and experiences into lyrics, experiment with melody and learn what makes a great chorus and catchy hook. We’ll also explore different song structures and introduce useful songwriting tools to help you develop and refine your ideas.Through fun individual and group exercises, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with lyrics, melodies, rhymes and storytelling, while getting an introduction to the exciting world of co-writing.Most importantly, there are no rules or right and wrong answers when it comes to songwriting. The workshop is about finding your own creative voice, building confidence and having fun with music.By the end of the session, you’ll have created your own song ideas — and, if you feel comfortable, the chance to share your work with the group.Come with an open mind, leave with a song!”(There will be a 30 minutes break for lunch so make sure to bring some food/ water along.).Please note all our staff involved in our youth programmes have enhanced DBS certification.
