To celebrate the 20th anniversary of DoitJAZZ!, we present a special collaboration with MAGNETiC, the monthly party at The Room in Shibuya, Tokyo, co-hosted by DJ KAWASAKI and SHACHO (SOIL&“PIMP”SESSIONS). Both DJ KAWASAKI and SHACHO have appeared at DoitJAZZ! many times over the years. SHACHO also joined us as MC when Gilles Peterson came to Kyoto. After a long-standing connection with DoitJAZZ!, the two come together for the first time as MAGNETiC. Built around the concept of “DISCO + JAZZ,” MAGNETiC explores dance music from its own perspective, while DoitJAZZ! continues to expand its interpretation of music with “JAZZ” at its core. With JAZZ as a common thread, the two parties approach dance music from different angles.
