Disability, Theology and Spiritual Formation October 24, 2026 - March 13, 2027 Course Description This is an introductory program in Disability Theology. Students will examine the realities of living with a disability in contemporary society and their theological and spiritual implications. These modules will also delve into a practical theology regarding living and working with individuals with disabilities and their incorporation into our spiritual communities. Module 2 Disability and Time: Enabling Theology This Module will examine the concept of time relating to persons with disabilities. How should non-disabled persons share time with disabled persons? How are disabled persons affected by conventional understandings of time? While referring to biblical sources, students will develop a disability theology that fosters proximity and understanding. Learning Objectives: Understanding God's approach and involvement in disability Learning about what it means to be in proximity to disabled time Discovering and developing your disability theology Exploring time: what is it for, how to share it with the disabled and how the disabled use time Facilitator: Dr. Andrew Barron Andrew Barron was an adjunct faculty member at The Centre for Spirituality, Disability, and Care at Martin Luther University College, federated with Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. He has previously taught disability and theology at Tyndale University, Ambrose University, and Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, where he graduated with his Doctor of Ministry degree in 2016. Barron lives in Toronto. He is married to Laura and is the father of Rafael, Ketzia, and Simona. Learning Format The modules in this Certificate will be delivered in person and online. The platform for the live streaming will be Zoom. Cost Each module is $135.00 plus administrative fees There is a 10% discount for full-time Tyndale students, alumni and staff.
