The sound and culture of Jazzy Sport, rooted in Japan and carried forward by a new generation in London.
Founded in Japan in 2002, Jazzy Sport have expanded across record shops, label and distribution, apparel, dance studios and community spaces.
That spirit continues in London through Jazzy Sport London, a first international branch established in 2022 through parties, radio shows and collaborations connecting Japan and the UK. Its first label release, JAZZY SPORT PAST FORWARD: SILVER, is a compilation selected by Nina Yamada from Jazzy Sport’s 24-year catalogue.

Rather than a conventional greatest-hits collection, the compilation offers an inside view of the Jazzy Sport catalogue and an intergenerational handover — carrying its sound, values and open-minded approach forward through a new generation.

To celebrate the release, the Jazzy Sport Past Forward Release Party brings this music and community together at Club Cheek in Brixton.

On the decks,IG Culture, a key figure in the west London’s Broken Beat movement, will be joined by Kay Suzuki, founder and owner of the Time Capsule label, and Garth Boogiebwoy Thomas from Jazz Refreshed.

The night will also feature a live performance by Ayana × Neue Grafik, alongside an open dance jam hosted by Footnotes, bringing the music and dance communities together on the floor.
