A Night of Stories and Music Fundraiser to Support Lebanon’s First Responders
Since 2022, a Beirut-based volunteer initiative has raised over USD 150,000 through grassroots crowdfunding (via FundaHope) to support Lebanon's Civil Defence — the country's principal first-responder network, which operates with under-resourced equipment amid Lebanon's compounding economic, infrastructural, and security crises. Building on this track record, we are seeking donor support to fund a new ambulance.
Lebanon's Civil Defence relies on both donor and fundraising efforts to sustain itself as a directorate. The compounding effects of the 2019 financial collapse, the August 2020 Beirut port explosion, and recurrent wildfire and search-and-rescue emergencies have left first responders under-equipped relative to the scale of risk they are expected to cover. At the same time, Lebanese civil society has demonstrated it can mobilize significant grassroots resources and sustain multi-year fundraising relationships — this is another event where we hope to shed light on their efforts and proceeds will go toward purchasing an ambulance.
