Alleluia!HONORARY DOCTORATE CONFERRAL CONCERTSunday, November 1, 4:00 pmConcordia Symphony Orchestra Concordia Wind Orchestra Jeff Held, music director Richard Fischer, honored conductorJoin us to confer an honorary doctorate on a legendary conductor and Lutheran teacher, Dr. Richard Fischer. Dr. Fischer recently retired from a storied 51-year career at Concordia University Chicago. His work broadened Lutheran collegiate wind band music and led many composers to write music based on Lutheran hymns. The program will feature two movements from Dvorak’s “New World“ Symphony, followed by classic wind band arrangements made famous by Richard Fischer’s recordings with the Concordia Wind Symphony (Chicago, IL).Location: CU Center for Worship and the Performing ArtsParking and Walking: When you arrive to Concordia, Irvine; tell the gate attendant that you are here for the music event in the CU center. You will be directed to park in the main lot, then you will walk down the hill to the CU center.Tickets: $18 general admission
