On Friday, October 9, Chicago house and techno legend Mystic Bill takes over CARGO at Dead Letter No. 9. A defining figure in Chicago’s second wave, Bill held residencies at Shelter, Crobar, and Smartbar, while his Trax Records productions and aliases including Sundowners, Billy Nightmare, and Savage Hymn, influenced generations of artists and dancers. Expect Chicago acid, Detroit techno, deep house, industrial textures, and unexpected Italo gems. 1:30AM–3:30AM. Joining him is Chicago-born DJ, producer, and edit master Prince Language. Now embedded in NYC nightlife, his selections span house, disco, hip-hop, soul, jazz, reggae, and beyond. With remixes for LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, The Rapture, Azari & III, and Armand Van Helden, he connects the underground traditions of Chicago and New York. 11:30PM–1:30AM. Opening CARGO, Gianna Guerino brings soulful wax and deep analog cuts full of warmth, grit, and groove. 10PM–11:30PM. In the Foyer, Cadence Radio kicks things off at 8PM with Neskin, Elkind, and RYÔ b2b Hugh Zhang. At midnight, Morgan Wiley, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and member of Midnight Magic, takes the reins through close.
