ABOUT KAARON: Twice-Shirley Jackson award-winner Kaaron Warren published her first short story in 1993 and has had fiction in print every year since. She has published six multi-award winning novels, three stand-alone novellas, and seven short story collections. Kaaron has lived in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Fiji, drawing inspiration from every place. She wrote her novel The Underhistory inspired by research into Prime Ministers, artists and serial killers. The novel was described in the Guardian as ‘a beautifully constructed, suspenseful gothic tale’. --------- ABOUT J.S: J.S. Breukelaar is the author of four novels and two collections which have won or been nominated for the Shirley Jackson, Aurealis and Ditmar Awards among others. Her most recent novel is Remedy included in the New York TimesBest Horror of the Year, 2025. Her stories can be found in publications such as Apex, Lightspeed, The Dark and Fantasy Magazine, as well as several Years’ Bests. She teaches creative writing at UNSW, in Sydney where she lives with her family. You can also find her online at @jsbreukelaar. --------- ABOUT BELINDA: Belinda is passionate about stories and after years of second guessing herself she finally turned her hand to writing them, with a preference for supernatural and thriller themes; her love of both often competing for her attention. As a result, she has had several stories published in a variety of publications, both online, on podcasts and in anthologies. In 2025, Nightmare Press published Belinda’s collection of short, spooky stories titled ‘Murky Shadows – A Haunting Collection of Spooky Stories’ and that same year Belinda published her children’s picture book titled ‘Bolt’s First Day’, a tale about a cute, green monster who is scared to start school because he thinks he is different. Belinda also has indulged in her passion for true crime podcasts, by making one of her very own! Her podcast is called Crime Scenes with Coffee Beans, and it’s a true crime podcast which covers Australian murders…which Belinda covers over a coffee or two. Belinda enjoys music, cats, dachshunds, drinking too much coffee, over indulging in too many cocktails when the occasion arises, travelling and – of course – all things spooky!
