Masterclass with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan (Beginner)

Description

This masterclass introduces the choreography and philosophy that underpins Cloud Gate Dance Theatre’s Sounding Light. Part I: Tai Chi Dao Yin An introduction to the body’s nine joints, focusing on warming up through spiral motions. Part II: Elements of Sounding Light Vocal warm-ups: voice practice Sounds in nature: mimicking birds chirping and the buzzing of insects Chanting practice: exploring harmony among voices. Chanting with movements: finding balance in between Part III: A glimpse of Sounding Light This is a beginner-intermediate level masterclass. Pre-registration is required and applicants should meet one of the following criteria:  Practicing dance professionals in ballet, contemporary dance or Chinese dance Full-time dance students, aged 15 and above, or   Dancers with minimum of two years of ballet/contemporary/Chinese dance experience and regular training (at least once a week) Be sure to catch Sounding Light by Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan , choreographed by Artistic Director Cheng Tsung-lung, inspired by the sounds, shapes and fluidity of nature.
