Ecstatic Dance inspired by K-Shamanism

Ecstatic Dance is a space for free movement, practiced around the world from Bali to Amsterdam, Berlin, and New York. With NO Drugs, NO Alcohol, and NO Phones, it creates a space for immersion and liberation, where everyone can move freely and as equals.

HYUNHYEON exists somewhere between art and a festival — a space where we sweat, move, and let ourselves loose.

October 17th, HYUNHYEON presents an Ecstatic Dance inspired by Korean shamanic traditions. We bring “tradition” back to something that can be lived and experienced through contemporary techno, bass, electronic, and experimental music.

Water Purification Ceremony / Movement Guide / Ecstatic Dance / Sound Bath / Mingling

We begin with a Water Purification Ceremony, inspired by the tradition of offering wishes through clear water. The gesture becomes a meditation where we discover what we truly wish for, and set an intention.

Facilitators guide you into movement — sensing the earth beneath your feet, and through the sky allowing "shinmyeong" to rise through the body and connect us with one another.

The Ecstatic Dance then opens into free movement. And we close with rest and a sound bath, allowing the body and mind to settle and the experience to resonate within.
