GDX Conference 2026

Game Discovery Exhibition (GDX 2026) Conference – Indie Rebellion Join us for three days of collaboration, community, and professional growth at GDX 2026 —Canada’s indie-focused games industry conference and festival. For year eleven, GDX has chosen to decouple the conference and exhibition, making it possible to bring together passionate Albertan, Canadian, and global games industry professionals to inspire one another, learn from each other, and grow together without the pressures of finishing a build. This year's event will take place on the 2nd floor of the Queen Elizabeth II Federal Building on the Alberta legislative grounds. During GDX, we share knowledge, build relationships, and discover new ways to elevate our craft with a focus on supporting local talent and independent voices in the games industry. Our summits focus on forging connections through building a better games industry, exploring emerging cultural and technological trends, and championing the next generation of game developers. New this year , GDX is having our first ever tabletop and board game summit. Alongside the Building a Better Games Industry, the Craft of Indie Development, and the Indigeneity and Diaspora in Games Summits, GDX continues to expand. Acknowledgement We are honoured to host GDX on Treaty Six territory and in Métis Region IV, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Anishinaabe, Blackfoot, Dene, and Nakota Sioux peoples. Edmonton, known as a miskwacîwâskahikan (ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ) , meaning "Beaver Hills House," has long been a gathering place for these Indigenous nations as well as the Inuit and settlers who came to the region later on. We respectfully acknowledge the enduring connection to this land that the Indigenous peoples have and the contributions they continue to make to our community.
