Following the release of their debut self-titled EP in 2026, Free Aviary amassed more than 100,000 streams and emerged as one of Perth’s most exciting new indie-rock acts. Friends since childhood, Tom Stokes and Angus Dorrian formed Free Aviary with Jamie Floyd and Zoe Koong while studying at university in 2024. Since then, the band’s energetic and engaging live performances have earned them a growing reputation across Western Australia. Recorded at Hercules Street Studios in Sydney with three-time ARIA Gold and Platinum record producer Glenn Goldsmith, Hold My Mind was released nationally on 15 September and marks an exciting new chapter for Free Aviary as they continue their rise as one of Australia’s most promising emerging bands. Free Aviary will celebrate the release at The Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 7 November, joined by special guests Hey So Hungry.
