Self-taught, she has been creating embroidered works inspired by the streets, food and everyday scenes of Japan since 2018. Combining different embroidery techniques, fabrics and materials, her work explores texture, detail and three-dimensionality, bringing familiar Japanese scenes and objects to life through embroidery. The exhibition features original embroidery pieces from her book "Stitch Tokyo" , offering visitors the opportunity to see the works in person and discover the textures, details and techniques behind them. A small pop-up shop will also be open, featuring a limited selection of Yumi Hoops handmade embroidery items. 📖 "Stitch Tokyo" is available at Kinokuniya bookstores across Japan. 🩷 モフモフ Atelier — EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP 🩷 At 14:00, Yumi will host “モフモフ Atelier”, a special hands-on embroidery workshop inspired by Japan. During the workshop, we will create our own cute onigiri using different embroidery techniques, textures and three-dimensional elements. Come and enjoy a relaxed and creative embroidery experience, and take home your own little handmade piece.
