01/24/27 Mozart and Friends

For the third concert of the 98th season, the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra proudly presents "Mozart and Friends." This performance includes a collection of magnificent music from the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as well as pieces from some of his esteemed contemporaries. Expect to enjoy one of the finest examples of family legacy from Johann Sebastian Bach’s youngest son, Christian Bach who delighted audiences the world over as his father had before him. Lesser known than the Bach family but no less impressive are the works of Johann Nepomuk Hummel. Mozart was so impressed with him that he taught and housed Hummel for two years free of charge! Here we will feature his grand Trumpet Concerto. The showcase of this concert is no minor detail as Mozart himself only ever wrote two minor key symphonies. Our performance will include his second such creation known as his “Great G Minor Symphony.” Concluding the concert we share a special piece from the man who taught such spectacular talents as Hummel, Mozart, Beethoven and many others, Antonio Salieri. Start off your New Year with a delight for the ears by enjoying an afternoon with us exploring the interplay of these amazing maestros!
