Foothills Bluegrass & Old Time presents: The McMillan's Camp Boys & opener Ross Fizzard live at Hickey's Pub in the Irish Cultural Society (6452 35 Ave NW, Calgary).
Join us Saturday, November 21, 2026. Doors open at 6:30PM, show starts at 7PM.
The McMillan’s Camp Boys have spent the last several years constantly on the road, bringing their vast repertoire of traditional country, bluegrass, and old-time music to audiences all across Canada. From the dirt roads of Dawson City, Yukon, to the rocky shores of St. John’s, Newfoundland, the duo has honed their sound; tight vocal harmonies accompanied by banjo, fiddle, mandolin and guitar. Their latest album “Runty In The Tallgrass” is out now on Dartmouth’s Big Turnip Records.
Find their music and more here.
Ross Fizzard will be performing a solo set to kick off the night. A son of Fort Mac and well traveled folk singer, Ross Fizzard writes forward, witty country songs like John Prine with a voice like Ramblin' Jack Elliott. Working his way out of the Northern Alberta mines he found inspiration to sing and write from artists such as The Band, Corb Lund, and Leonard Cohen and has since captivated audiences with illustrating verses and bright refrains.
FBOT Members, please join us at 4:30pm before the concert for our Annual General Meeting! We will review past years events, our financial position, advise about upcoming events, and answer members questions.
We have two Board spots up for election this year - we’re in search of a Volunteer Coordinator and a Marketing Coordinator, each for a two year term.
If you are interested in joining our board or would like more information, please email [email protected]. We hope to see you there!
