About Synth Library NYC: Synth Library NYC is New York’s first and only lending library dedicated to synthesizers and electronic music gear, working to break down barriers to music technology and build a more diverse, accessible, and inclusive electronic music community. Now celebrating its fifth year, Synth Library NYC serves over 1,000 people annually, with 80% identifying as BIPOC, women, or non-binary—communities historically underrepresented in music tech and synth culture. By making instruments, resources, and opportunities for creative exploration more accessible, the library is helping broaden who gets to participate in shaping the future of electronic music.

Entirely volunteer-run and free to the community, Synth Library NYC is expanding in 2027 with a new public-access resource room and studio featuring a collection of vintage synthesizers. Funds raised will help sustain the library’s essential annual operating costs ($10K+) and support this next phase of growth, bringing creative tools, knowledge, and opportunities to even more people.
