MIGRANTES was born from the artistic meeting of pianist Andrea Manzoni and oud player Mauro Sigura. Structured in three acts—The Dream, The Hope, and The Journey—the project unfolds through immersive soundscapes that weave together jazz, Arab-Ottoman traditions, classical music, and global influences. More than a concert, Migrantes is a narrative and sonic experience in which migration becomes an inner journey—a movement of the soul as much as of the body. The duo’s richly pluralistic musical language reflects the diverse cultural influences that shape their work, creating a captivating dialogue between traditions and contemporary expression. Blending the emotional depth, rhythmic vitality, and improvisational spirit of European jazz with evocative sounds inspired by Arab-Ottoman music, Manzoni and Sigura invite audiences on a deeply immersive musical voyage. Their interdisciplinary approach to composition and performance embraces music as a universal language capable of transcending cultural and geographical boundaries. At its heart, Migrantes celebrates cultural pluralism—the coexistence of diverse traditions, identities, and perspectives—and explores how shared human experiences can be expressed through music. - Please note: Food and table service will not be available during Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel performances.
