Nkalakatha Fest 2026 brings South Africa’s iconic celebration of musical heritage home to Soweto, honouring the legacy of the late Mandoza and marking 10 years since his passing. Hosted by the Mandoza Foundation in partnership with Soweto Theatre, the festival celebrates the enduring power of Nkalakatha, an anthem that united a nation and remains deeply rooted in South African culture. Featuring legendary pioneers and today’s stars, the festival takes audiences on a musical journey from kwaito and Maskandi to house and amapiano. Nkalakatha Fest is a homecoming, celebrating culture, community and generations while creating opportunities through the Nkalakatha Village and Youth Development
