Be Quiet. Shout Loud! are playing their final ever gig on Friday 6 February. In their own words: "Back in 2019, we had more momentum than we'd ever had. We were playing some of our best shows, writing some of our best songs and it genuinely felt like the band was going somewhere. Then the pandemic happened. Like every band, we lost two years but unlike a lot of bands, we'd already spent more than a decade building Be Quiet. Shout Loud! so the following five years, we tried our best to keep it afloat. Eventually we found a new guitarist, we started writing again, we started getting excited about the band again and we decided to give it another go. We returned to the stage, played four shows, felt like we were rebuilding some momentum and for a brief moment it felt like we might actually be up and running again. Then our new guitarist decided it wasn't for him and that was probably the moment that we had to be honest with ourselves. We could reset again. We could find someone else, start from scratch, build a new line-up, relearn the songs, announce another comeback and hope that people believed us this again - but that would have been the third “comeback” in three years. At some point, you have to accept that maybe the world is trying to tell you something. Rather than spending another few years trying to resurrect something that we've already resurrected several times, we've decided to give up - if it was good enough for John Cena in the end, then it’s good enough for us. It’s not a sad ending, it’s actually a pretty happy one, a relief to finally let go and a chance to spend a night going through our history with some special guests from the past and and a chance to play some songs we haven’t played in many many years Be Quiet. Shout Loud! started with a gig at The Sun Inn in Stockton in 2008 and we somehow ended up playing festivals, crossing the North Sea, releasing records, supporting bands we grew up listening to, making some genuinely brilliant friends and spending nearly two decades making a ridiculous amount of noise. There have been hundreds of gigs, some questionable outfits, an unreasonable number of keytars and more glitter than any functioning adult should probably admit to. So that’s that. One last show. One last night. One last chance to dance, shout, sing and probably wonder why we didn’t say goodbye sooner. Friday 6 February. Be Quiet. Shout Loud! The final one."
