Australian-German power-rock duo POWDER FOR PIGEONS splices raw alternative rock with a heavy dose of punk and metal to create a relentless and explosive, in-your-face wall of sound. Frontman and singer Rhys builds his own guitars from native Australian timber which adds to that extra-dirty, drop-tuned, and rugged signature sound. On the drums, Meike brings her powerhouse chops she crafted back in Los Angeles under a label tied to the legendary Sound City Studios in Van Nuys. Based between Hamburg (GER) and Perth (WA), the Las Vegas married couple has dedicated themselves completely to their music. Whether hunkered down in the studio or out on the road, the duo has consistently put out a new album every two years. Over the past decade, Powder for Pigeons has toured all over Europe every year - with their own headline shows and as support for heavyweights like New Model Army, Clutch, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Life of Agony, EODM, Clawfinger and Ugly Kid Joe. They are also a fierce staple on the European festival circuit, having performed at Hellfest (FR), Ollesummer (EST), Palp Fest (CH), Czad Festiwal (PL), Desertfest (DE), Vestrock (NL), Mighty Sounds (CZE), Riff Ritual Fest (S). “This two-piece has the intensity and rage of a full-blown thunderstorm and the stage presence of a five-man band.” (Rock Hard Magazine) GETTING DUMBER clock-rock / hour-pop / hardcore-punctual / time-rhymes / watch-band from Perth, western australia. Bigger, louder and dumber than ever before with a broad range of influences including 1960's garage rock, ska, saturday morning cartoons, new-wave and blockbuster action movies all rolled together with a time-traveling punk/folk/pop sound. Getting Dumber strive to remain authentically human in an increasingly artificial world and have opened shows around Perth for The Smith Street Band, Ratsalad, Teevee Repairmann, Loose Lips, The Decline and more.
