Come join one of the oldest classical Indian dance companies in the US in its 49th Annual Performance! Multiple-time National Endowment of the Arts Honoree Dances of India presents classical Indian dance, experimental pieces, & its original dance-theater production From the Mississippi to the Ganges: Mark Twain's Journey to India in its annual premier performance on November 13-15, 2026. This is a special performance for America 250 and will include much of Twain's own writing on India! How did this quintessentially American writer view a civilization so different from his own? How did he interpret the many rich layers of myth found in the sacred city of Benares, (now called Varanasi), one of the holiest cities in the world? Show Timings: * Friday and Saturday are the same shows. Friday, Nov 13 @ 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov 14 @ 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov 15 @ 3 p.m. This is our Family Matinee, where the whole company performs: young dancers, intermediates, and adults. From the Mississippi to the Ganges WILL be performed in its entirety at every performance. Guest Performers Include: Patrick Suzeau, Sanjay Shantaram, Kiran James, Thomas Proctor, and Isaiah Di Lorenzo as Mark Twain. This performance is presented with support from the Missouri Arts Council & St. Louis Regional Arts Commission.
