From Darkness to Light

From Darkness to Light Sunday, March 7, 2027 - 4:00 pm The third concert of the Cellar Singer's season will include Eleanor Daley's Requiem as well as Ruth Watson Henderson's composition "From Darkness to Light", two strong choral works by amazing Canadian composers. Daley's Requiem, sung a cappella is one of her best known works. The piece includes traditional Latin Requiem Mass text, as well as English language poetry, including the familiar poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye "Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep". Watson's piece is similar in that it is comprised of Biblical passages and the poetry of Wilfred Watson (also Canadian, no relation). These two works are deeply reflective and moving.
