PRESENCE: ZEN EDITION Friday 11 December 2026 — My Aeon In a world constantly competing for our attention, Presence invites us to return to the moment—to sound, movement, breath and one another. Zen developed in Japan from Buddhist traditions that originated in India and travelled through China before reaching Japan. Its practice emphasises direct experience, meditation, simplicity and awareness of the present moment. Shinto, Japan’s Indigenous spiritual tradition, honours nature, ancestry, sacred places and the spirits known as kami. Although Zen and Shinto are distinct traditions, both have deeply influenced Japanese art, ritual, architecture and cultural life. For us, the important lesson is transformation: strength is not found only in conflict or control, but in learning when to put down the sword. Awakening begins when reaction becomes awareness—when we stop fighting ourselves, listen deeply and choose conscious action. Presence: Zen Edition draws inspiration from this foundation of mindfulness. Through hypnotic sound, movement and shared experience, we create space to step away from distraction and return to what is happening now. Held at My Aeon and powered by its incredible sound system, the night will feature: Live electric violin by Jasmine Speers Live saxophone A live electronic set from Hugo Live vocals to close the night DJs and more artists to be announce Wear your best kimono or Japanese-inspired clothing and become part of the living décor.
