WELCOME TO CRYSTAL QUEER CLUB: THE WORLD BEYOND SAMHAIN At Samhain, the veil between the living and the dead grows thin. Last year, we danced around the fire for protection. This year, we cross it. Guided by the ancient myth of Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, we descend into the unknown. She descended. She tasted the pomegranate. And she became bound to both worlds: to darkness and light, to the Underworld and the world above, to death and rebirth. Her descent and return became a myth through which the ancient Greeks understood the changing of the seasons: the journey from one world into another, from darkness towards light. And at Samhain, we meet that same turning point: the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. So this year, we bring these ancient traditions together in a night of mystery and transformation and we will dance until the darkness gives way to light. Step through the veil. Feel the beat. Let the transformation begin. For one night, the boundaries disappear and we become part of something beyond our world. And when Persephone returns; light and spring will rise again.
