5 Dec, 2pm: Your Voice. Your Way. (Conducted in English)
An Introduction to Estill Voice Training
What makes a voice sound powerful, breathy, bright, dark or expressive? And how much of what we have been told about singing is actually true?
Join Estill Mentor and Course Instructor Aaron Lim for an interactive introduction to Estill Voice Training, a practical approach to understanding and developing the singing voice. Through simple vocal experiments and demonstrations, participants will discover how different parts of their vocal mechanism influence the sounds they create, while challenging common myths about singing.
Explore your voice. Break the myths. Find your possibilities. Whether you are a beginner, experienced singer, performer or simply curious about your voice, come explore what your voice can do.
5 Dec, 4pm: Beyond Good Singing (Conducted in Mandarin)
Exploring the Contemporary Mandopop Voice with Estill Voice Training
What makes a contemporary Mandopop voice sound intimate, breathy, bright, powerful or emotionally charged? Is it simply talent or can these sounds be explored and developed?
In this interactive workshop facilitated by Estill Mentor and Course Instructor Aaron Lim, discover how Estill Voice Training can help you understand the many vocal colours found in Mandarin pop singing. Using familiar song lines and examples inspired by today’s Mandopop artists, participants will explore how changes in vocal quality, resonance, diction and expression can transform the same musical phrase.
From subtle and intimate to bold and powerful, come discover the many possibilities of your voice and learn that great singing is not just about one sound, but a world of choices.
