Deafy

One Yellow Rabbit presents
DeafyProduced by Follow the Signs TheatreAs part of the 2027 High Performance RodeoWhat happens when certainty begins to unravel?Nathan Jesper is a Deaf public speaker who has finally made it to his speaking engagement. Very late. As he begins his presentation, small details start to feel wrong. The room, the situation and perhaps even the story itself begin to shift. What follows is a surreal journey that unfolds alongside Nathan, drawing the audience deeper into a world where answers seem to create even more questions. It’s funny in unexpected places, and the further the story goes, the harder it becomes to know what to believe.Blending ASL, spoken language and captions into the fabric of the performance, the production creates a shared theatrical experience for Deaf and hearing audiences alike. By the time the final pieces fall into place, you may have more questions than you started with.CREDITSWritten and performed by Chris DoddAshley Wright - DirectorErin Hayes - Stage ManagerSarah Karpyshin - Lighting DesignerRory Turner - Associate Lighting Designer / SurtitlesDave Clarke - Sound DesignerAinsley Hillyard - Movement CoachJoshua Meredith - Vocal CoachAmorena Bartlett - ASL Coach
