Welcome to Grande Prairie Live Theatre's 32nd Season of Folk, Roots, and Blues Concerts! Our Seasoned Promoter, Franz Kratschat brings us a new batch of incredible artists for the 32nd year in a row! Introducing the Fifth Concert of the Series: Lewis & Royal! Sunday, March 14th, 2027 at 7:30 pm. Doors Open at 7pm! Lewis & Royal are a comedy folk duo from Alberta whose infectious blend of humour, harmony, and roots music have been winning audiences across the prairies for decades. They first played together in the bluegrass group The Rosebud Rivervalley Boys, where their creative spark led to the smash-hit stage musical CHICKENS for Rosebud Theatre, that has gone on to be produced across Canada, USA and Australia. Building on that success, they branched out with their debut album Ampersand and soon began touring widely, bringing their distinctive sound to towns and cities across Western Canada. What sets Lewis & Royal apart is their onstage chemistry: an easy banter, quick wit and playful energy that make every performance feel unique. Audiences never quite know what to expect - except that they'll laugh, sing along, and leave feeling uplifted. Their live album, Lock Up Your Gopher, captures that trademark spontaneity and humour. From intimate concerts in prairie churches and community halls to folk festivals and even the Calgary Saddledome, Lewis & Royal continue to captivate with performances that balance heartfelt storytelling, rich harmonies, plus a generous dose of comedic flair.
