Groove Village is super pleased to announce it's new monthly gig programme for 2027, starting with Groove Village festival favourites Big Trousers and The New Cut. The first gig off the block will take place at the intimate Loves Cafe during Independent Venue Week on 28th January 2027.
Big Trousers are a post modern power duo from London and Plymouth. The pair satirise societal issues facing today’s youth, such as discount clothing stores’ (alleged) insidious tax practices, big oil’s transport monopoly, and the existential dread developed through overexposure to deep fried internet content.
Bristol's 4 piece The New Cut blend the energy of classic groups like The Fall, Wire, and The Monochrome Set with modern themes and contexts. Formed in 2021, the band quickly gained momentum with a series of successful releases, leading to support slots for Buzzcocks, Sprints, and The Bug Club, as well as landing on Green Man Festival's 2024 Emerging Talent longlist. Poised to transition from local favourites to rising stars in the UK post-punk scene.
Not only do you get two great up and coming bands, but we will also have Independent Venue Week Ambassador Big Jeff on hand to be our Groove Village compere for the night.
