The Firebird

After standing ovations at the Hollywood Bowl, Ravinia, The Mann Centre, and the Wolf Trap and Artscape, Janni Younge’s The Firebird comes to Gauteng for the first time. Directed by Janni Younge and choreographed by Jay Pather, the production sets Stravinsky’s electrifying score to a contemporary South African fusion of larger-than-life puppetry and powerful dance. A young woman’s quest to unleash her creative power becomes a breathtaking high-energy spectacle. Towering puppet creatures, dynamic choreography, and one of the greatest orchestral scores ever written builds to a rousing climax as the magnificent Firebird takes flight. “An artistic triumph and game changer” — The Mann Centre Lookout for the family deals located in limited sections and boxes.
