Live Music at The Nick Presents Terra Spencer with opener Corey Primus

Bad ideas, VCR’s, crumbling factories, hairy dogs, questionable tattoos…all are fair game for funeral director-turned singer-songwriter and 2025 Music Nova Scotia Entertainer of the Year, Terra Spencer.  As a fun-loving and fearless solo performer, Terra has played some of Canada’s most renowned festival stages, including the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, where her Maritime waltz Lunenburg Moon has become an unofficial anthem.  Terra’s fourth album Sunset, was named the 2024 Penguin Eggs Roots Music Canada Critics’ Choice Album of the Year (alongside Julian Taylor’s Pathways).  Named Music Nova Scotia Folk/Roots Recording of the Year, Sunset earned her ECMA and Canadian Folk Music Award nominations for Solo Artist and English Songwriter of the Year.  Although her butterscotch voice, deft finger style guitar and gospel-charged piano make her a formidable musician, it’s her onstage ease, spirited spontaneity, and crackling East Coast wit that make each show feel like a knee-to-knee conversation.

Much of the fodder for Corey Primus' song crafting came from being raised in BC’s northern interior, in “a cold little northern town”, Prince George BC. His alternative/folk musing has been inspired by diverse influences, his journey encompassing important musical milestones including opening for Canadian rock legend Burton Cummings, to opening the Western Canada Summer Games with his song, The Way.  Corey continues to create a wide variety of music encompassing folk/Acoustic/contemporary/Blues/Rock/ Pop. His whole life has been playing and sharing his songs. It is all a part of the journey, all a part of the story and there is still more to tell.  It always comes back to an acoustic guitar and a good song.  Inject some of your soul and share it to see who you can touch.
