Learn from Halena Lou in two 75-minute drop-in heels workshops to deepen your technique and level up your performances!  Expect to work hard but feel good, challenging your inner showpony in a welcoming environment.   Saturday, September 26th3:30 - 6:00 pm (see full schedule below) Second Act Studios, 205A Pacific Ave - Studio 2   Pricing:  Earlybird registration (by September 12th): 1 class for $20 or take both for $30Regular registration (starting September 13th): 1 class for $25 or take both for $40   Schedule:  3:30 - 4:45: Showgirl Heels It's time to bevel, kick, and hit those poses! In this class, Halena Lou will draw on her 20+ years of dance training and her experience dancing in a professional cabaret company in Vancouver to break down key jazz and heels technique for that showpony look and feel in your dancing. A perfect add-on for heels dancers and burlesque performers alike! Class will include: warm up, skill-building, and a Rockette-style combo. Please bring: any dance heels or character shoes.  4:45 - 6:00: Slow & Sexy Heels Sink into your body with a cheeky, slinky, and feel-good heels class! Based on Halena's background in lyrical, jazz, cabaret heels, and burlesque, this class will feature a sultry combo exploring musicality, tension, and downright raunch.  Class will include: warm-up, technical skills, and combo. Expect floor work as well, so cover those knees! Heels optional. About me: Halena Lou (she/her) is a dancer and burlesque performer based in BC's Lower Mainland. Halena has been dancing since age 8 and teaching for over 8 years, focusing in heels, jazz, and burlesque. She dances professionally with cabaret company The Lolas, including performing in their recent Western Canada tour of 'Stardust,' and as a burlesque artist she has performed in festivals and shows across North America and beyond. She also produces burlesque shows in Vancouver through @halenaloupresents, profiling both the sultry and the silly within the art form. In Halena's classes, expect juicy moves, fun storytelling, and even getting a little down and dirty, all rooted in strong technique.
