Director of the Milner Centre for Evolution at the University of Bath, she is known for her academic work leading the genetics and identification of Richard III, advising on the case of Mary Jane Kelly (the last victim of Jack the Ripper), and leading the project on sequencing Hitler’s genome. In The Secrets of Our DNA, she opens a dazzling window into the world of modern genetics; takes us on a journey to understand the real science behind some of the world’s most famous crimes; and explains how genetics informs every aspect of our lives. King has won awards for her public engagement, and this event promises to present complex research in an accessible and utterly fascinating way for upper high school students.
