Bauhausspearheaded the post-punk Alternative music scene of the early ‘80’s with a stringof innovative albums and singles, including, for many, perhaps their definingmoment, a song that is ranked as a classic and feasibly the pinnacle of the entireGothic scene and beyond, the nine minute plus epic slab of industrial dub that is'Bela Lugosi’s Dead', featuring the lyrics of David J.Two years after the demise of Bauhaus in 1983, David regrouped with two of hisformer Bauhaus band mates, guitarist, Daniel Ash and drummer, Kevin Haskins toform the hugely successful Love And Rockets, whose debut single hit gold statusin Canada, followed by a top three US single with 'So Alive' which the bandcapped with a million selling album and sold out stadium tours.A highly acclaimed songwriter, often personal, often observational, all of thesequalities are evident on his twelve solo albums. David has also written anddirected various stage productions.He is joined by long-time collaborator Paul Wallfisch and acclaimed violinist and arranger Fiona Brice.London's Black Bordello will be opening the show. This is art-rock, fronted by Sienna Bordello, whose emotive soprano, macabre lyricism and wicked sense of humour have been compared to the likes of Björk, Kate Bush, and Siouxsie & the Banshees. Spearheaded by Sienna’s operatic vocals and vivid, fragmented songwriting, their metamorphic brand of alternative rock is enchanted with elements of vaudeville, post-punk, jazz, psychedelia, gothic rock and chamber pop.
