Imagine a place for those with nostalgia for a different time…
Club Orbit transports its visitors somewhere between the analogue ways of the near past and glistening space age fantasies. It is a world created for synth driven sonic acts and their appreciators; for those with electronic identities. Come and get lost in retro futurism.
Bad Apple Live and Ro Nova present the launch of Club Orbit, a new quarterly night celebrating 80s synthpop and electro, with Ro Nova headlining and special guest Vanity Fairy.
RO NOVA
Ro Nova collides synthwave and forward thinking pop, blending 80s nostalgia and ethereal vocals into an electronically charged soundscape. Her self produced debut EP Orbiting, released earlier this year, cemented her place as one of the UK's most exciting emerging electronic acts.
Her releases have been supported by BBC Radio 1 and BBC London, and her collaboration with legendary electronic artist Schiller took her to a wider international audience when the album Illuminate reached No.1 in Germany. Following the success of the title track, she joined Schiller on a second European tour, playing major venues including Berlin's Uber Arena.
After standout performances at The Great Escape and London's Scala, Ro Nova sold out her debut headline show at SJQ and recently supported Lone Assembly on their UK tour, establishing herself as one of the most compelling new voices in modern synthpop.
VANITY FAIRY
Championed by BBC 6 Music, DIY, CLASH, NME, Apple Music and CHANEL, Vanity Fairy is earning a reputation as one of the most mesmerising live performers around. Her shimmering falsetto has drawn comparisons to everyone from Barry Gibb to Kate Bush, and her shows blend high camp theatrics, 80s synthpop and sultry disco.
Following support slots for Warmduscher, Katy J Pearson, Lime Garden, Girl Ray and more, she released her second EP Top of the Pops on Moshi Moshi Records, a bittersweet, playful take on kitsch pop and classic disco.
Stay on after the show with free entry to DIG! Club Night at Paper Dress.
