The Dance Centre presents the Global Dance Connections series Wen Wei DanceLast SoloWen Wei Wang began dancing in China, where the expressive language of the hands, arms, and upper body shaped his artistic voice. As he grew older, he came to understand his sexuality and how deeply it influenced his life and creative journey. Now, returning to the stage as a senior artist, he reflects on memory, mortality, and the connection between body, mind, and the universe. Created with visual and sound artist Gary James Joynes, the work brings a live modular synthesizer and vocal performance together with analog video. Sounds and images transform the space into a meditation on life and presence. Presented through the Artist-in-Residence program Duration: 60 minutes Post-show artist talkback October 24 Please note that we are not able to admit latecomers after the show has started, to ensure the safety of the performers. Accessibility: This performance takes place in the Faris Family Studio, our intimate black box theatre space, which is wheelchair-accessible. When booking tickets, patrons who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids should select the ‘accessible’ seat type to ensure seating in the front row which is stair-free: limited spaces available. There are wheelchair-accessible washrooms in the theatre lobby. Please contact us if you require any assistance. Photo: Sylvain Senez
