Susquehanna Chorale Christmas Concert Online ticket sales for the Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg (12/19) and Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, Elizabethtown (12/20) end at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door of all three (3) concerts. The Susquehanna Chorale's beloved Candlelight Christmas concert returns, pairing old holiday favorites and carol sing-alongs with music by brilliant contemporary composers. The first half centers on Respighi's Laud to the Nativity — a hauntingly beautiful work featuring soprano, mezzo, and tenor soloists with a woodwind ensemble, blending plainchant, pastoral melody, and even Indian raga. The second half lets loose with American music drawn from diverse traditions: driving spirituals, ethereal hymns, paired around timeless Christmas themes. Highlights include selections from the acclaimed Alfred Burt Carols and James Taylor's arrangement of "Some Children See Him," before the concert closes with the Chorale's signature candle-lit performance of Silent Night. As a courtesy to our performers and other patrons, we suggest that children under age 6 not attend our performances. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
