At *Edible KAYABAEN*, a rooftop garden in Kayabacho, Tokyo, we host a monthly “Connecting Night Picnic”—a relaxed gathering where people come together to chat about food, nature, and everyday life. Now that we’ve passed *Risshū*, the traditional beginning of autumn, cool evening breezes have begun to flow through KAYABAEN. Our sorghum plants have grown beautiful red grains, plump and full, and we recently celebrated their harvest. Alongside the sorghum, seasonal vegetables such as eggplant and okra—and all the other vegetables that made it through the heat of August—are waiting to welcome you. We’ll also share stories about sorghum: what makes it special, why it’s kind to the environment, and how it can be a much more eco-friendly choice than meat. Come and enjoy the conversation!
