Ruti live at Rough Trade Liverpool

Ruti Live at Rough Trade Liverpool

Raised in Essex and now based in London, Ruti makes emotionally rich music that feels lived-in, sitting somewhere between folk, alternative pop and singer-songwriter storytelling. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Labi Siffre, Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges and Florence + The Machine, their songs feel quietly cinematic: intimate one moment, expansive the next.

Born to a Nigerian father and English mother, Ruti grew up surrounded by gospel, disco, Nigerian greats and modern British pop, shaping a sound that resists easy definition. Their forthcoming project explores the “heavy weight of 25” — a coming-of-age story about love, identity and navigating adulthood’s uncertainties.

Following a standout 2025, including major support slots and festival appearances, Ruti enters this new chapter with renewed confidence, clarity and a voice impossible to ignore.
