50th Season in 2026-2027: 50 Seasons of Sound & Community Celebrating Our Golden Season! The Susquehanna Symphony’s Golden (50th) Season will begin with compositions we have performed in the past and composers with whom we have had a close relationship: African American composer William Grant Still; friends to the SSO Amanda Harberg and Kile Smith; and Sir Malcolm Arnold, our guest in March of 2000. The works by Vaughan Williams and Fauré were performed at the Orchestra’s very first concert! We welcome back guest soloist Carolyn Black-Sotir (soprano); JoAnna Cochenet joins to conduct two works. William Grant Still – Threnody in Memory of Jan Silbelius Ralph Vaughan Williams, arr. Gordon Jacobs – English Folk Song Suite Gabriel Fauré – Pavane Sheldon Bair – The Homefront 1944 Carolyn Black-Sotir, soprano Malcolm Arnold – Four Cornish Dances, Op. 91 Amanda Harberg – Prayer (for orchestra) Kile Smith – Susquehanna 6:15 pm – the lobby opens for patrons to enjoy concessions from Coffee Coffee and shop with local artists, authors, and other vendors (items priced up to $100). 6:30 pm – Pre-Concert Talk held in the Auditorium. While we welcome children for our concerts, if children cannot remain silent, please escort them to the lobby as a courtesy to the other patrons and performers . We appreciate your support of the orchestra, but please stay home if you are ill for the protection of the community. TICKET INFORMATION: PRICING: Lowest ticket prices online! Includes a small service fee. Box office sales will be $5 more at the door, up to capacity limit. PRINT AT HOME: Tickets may be shown digitally on a phone or device, or printed if you wish. We do not need to collect the ticket from you. CHILDREN 10 YEARS & UNDER: Tickets are free, but tickets must be reserved for capacity and attendance limits. This performance is supported by the Harford County Government, as well as with grants from the Maryland State Arts Council (msac.org) and MSAC through the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.
