Join us for the Kala Siddhi Dance Festival, a special celebration marking the 10th anniversary of Siddhi Creative and Siddhi Dance Academy. The festival features two performance programs celebrating artistic explorations and the power of storytelling through dance. Program 1: Student Showcase (11:00 am - 1:30 pm) A vibrant showcase featuring students from across Siddhi Dance Academy. Through a series of performances, the students will celebrate their learning and artistic growth, as well as the friendships and community that have shaped their individual dance journeys. Program 2: Finding Joy and Katha—Stories Within Stories (3:30 - 5:30 pm) Finding Joy: A Siddhi Creative ensemble work that explores everyday moments in extraordinary ways. The work lingers in the moments that stay with us and the connections that carry us forward. Through shared laughter, old memories, the comfort of community, and stories of ambition, Finding Joy moves between humor and quiet reflection. Rooted in tradition and enriched with contemporary textures, the production blends expressive storytelling with a dynamic musical score incorporating konnakol and rap. Katha—Stories Within Stories: A Kuchipudi performance by acclaimed artist Sreelakshmy Govardhanan from India, Katha explores the feminine spirit through stories nestled within stories. The work reimagines the journeys of women from Indian mythology—women whose voices, struggles, and strengths continue to resonate powerfully today. At the centre of this journey is Soorpanakha, a woman whose body is punished, whose desire is questioned, and whose voice has lived for centuries at the margins of a familiar story. Through her, the dance begins to ask: Who decides what is beautiful, what is acceptable, what is feminine? Who gets to desire, to belong, to speak? And perhaps, as the stories unfold, the questions turn gently towards us. A journey not only to watch, but to feel, wonder, question and reflect, leaving the space with a story of our own. Come celebrate ten years of learning, artistic exploration, collaboration, and community—and the many stories that continue to unfold through dance. Reserved seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Select your program and seats below—we look forward to welcoming you!
