He left behind just one completed studio album, 1994’s Grace, but his extraordinary voice and fearless musicianship continue to inspire artists and music lovers everywhere. On November 17th, Jeff Buckley would have turned 60. Producer Luke Jackson (The Songs of Nick Drake ) writes: It’s heartbreaking to imagine how much incredible music Jeff would likely have produced in the last 29 years. On what would have been his 60th birthday, we’ll gather to celebrate the music he left behind. I’ve invited a group of Toronto’s finest musicians (with 12 JUNO nominations between them!) to bring their own voices and interpretations to these remarkable songs. Buckley’s catalogue demands courage, vulnerability and musicianship in equal measure, and I can’t wait to hear what this group of incredibly talented performers does with it. Expect to hear most of Grace, choice cuts from   Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk, and a couple of Jeff’s favourite covers, but no “Hallelujah”. These are going to be two very special nights. Please join us.    With performances by: Sarah Slean – Art-pop icon, songwriter and pianist, and a fearless interpreter of the classics.  Justin Nozuka – Unique singer-songwriter, bridging folk and alternative R&B with an unmistakable and irresistible velvet-toned voice.  Damhnait Doyle –  A commanding and deeply expressive vocalist capable of moving effortlessly from intimate vulnerability to raw, soulful power.  Matthew Barber – Masterful singer-songwriter with a rich tenor and an instinct for timeless melody.  Kathryn Rose – An ethereal and fearless vocalist whose instinctive interpretations captivate audiences.  Doug Tielli – An experimental singer and multi-instrumentalist whose wonderfully idiosyncratic music wanders freely across genres.  Rob Szabo – A n accomplished singer-songwriter, producer and musician with a powerful voice and a gift for sharply crafted, melodic songwriting.  Luke Jackson – Producer, songwriter, guitarist and your host for the evening.  Davide Direnzo  – drums Mark McIntyre  – bass Alex Cheung  – violin Wendy Solomon – cello
