Noel Cronin in conversation with Ross MacFarlane - Noel will be discussing his extraordinary life, which began on London’s Abbey Road. When he left school at the age of fourteen, he found a job as a post-boy at Rank’s Advertising Films Division. From there he moved on to the Central Office of Information and then became a film editor, based in Soho during the 1960s and 1970s. Over the years he has worked with prominent showbiz figures including Norman Wisdom, Mickey Rooney, George Cole, Prunella Scales, and David Carradine, as well as Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth. He went on to start a film distribution company before launching the ground-breaking Talking Pictures TV. In the 2024 New Year’s Honours List, he was awarded the British Empire Medal for his services to television broadcasting.
