Bekhand (بخند): YALDA in Farsi

Bekhand Improv presents: Yalda — in Farsiwith Live Music by a special guest!

This show blends your suggestions and stories with a selection of songs performed live by a special guest, all feeding into a fully improvised theatre performance.

Every experience you share, every Yalda detail you throw our way, and every song brought to the stage becomes part of our improvised theatre. Scenes unfold in real time, shaped by the Iranian diaspora experience in Vancouver, interpreted through the Farsi language with sprinkles of English, and grounded in the music we all grew up with.

Expect:• Audience memories and prompts woven directly into the show• Live Iranian pop classics influencing each scene• Improvised theatre that’s playful, specific, and never repeated• A Yalda-inspired night made for the local diaspora community who are “in between lives”

We cannot wait to celebrate theatre, Yalda and your suggestions.
