George Murphy first came to national attention through RTÉ’s You’re A Star , before going on to enjoy a career spanning more than two decades, including performances alongside some of the biggest names in Irish music and a period performing with The High Kings . Together with his eight-piece band The Rising Sons , George has created a powerful live sound combining traditional Irish instrumentation with the energy of classic rock ’n’ roll. Expect whistles, fiddles and banjos alongside electric guitars, bass and percussion, bringing a fresh edge to much-loved Irish songs. The band have become known for lively, singalong performances featuring a mix of original songs, traditional favourites and revamped classics , with recent tours filling theatres and auditoriums around Ireland. A brilliant festive night out and one for lovers of Irish folk, trad and live music.
