A Celebration of North Coast Folk Music - Bude is overflowing with folk talent and energy. Come and celebrate these multi-skilled local musicians who pen original songs with fun, fervour and folkish finesse! Jim Birmingham:Jim Birmingham has been writing songs since 1969, working hard at his craft to get it right and one day he reckons , he will, he’s had songs played on Radio 1, (Newsbeat) and Radio 4 (Loose ends) and numerous local stations, he’s performed them on national telly (Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast-Mel and Sue in the afternoon) and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios. In the 90’s he toured extensively with cockney duo Chas and Dave . He writes the songs that nobody else could be bothered to.Annown:Acclaimed Cornish alternative folk duo Annown have won plaudits from the likes of Tom Robinson, (BBC Radio 6), Blues and Folk Radio, Rewind Radio,The Cornwall Folk Festival, (where they have played 5 times), the Fatea showcase and many more festivals and radio stations. They have racked up literally hundreds of radio plays across the country, including daily plays on Wreckers Radio.Songs from their six original albums are being covered by several other local bands and singing groups.
