Aircraft — Frankfurt / Elfer Club Aircraft comes to Frankfurt am Main for a special live show at Elfer Club on 5 December. Founded in Kyiv in 2011 by Ukrainian musician Danyil Merkulov and now based in Berlin, Aircraft has spent more than a decade shaping a distinctive blend of dream pop, shoegaze, synth-driven melancholy and dark electronic textures. Following performances at ESNS, Fusion Festival, Kalabalik Festival and shows across Europe, the project continues its live journey with a set spanning its fifteen-year catalogue. The show will feature “Тигролови” (“Tiger Hunters”), Aircraft’s latest work — a six-song conceptual journey through the emotional landscape of Ukraine. Drawing on history, folklore, cultural memory and the everyday experience of survival, the EP explores the forces that shape generations and the resilience required to endure them. Supporting Aircraft is LEBENSHILFE, a newly formed band from Aschaffenburg whose members also play in projects including Electric Jugs, Dead Taste, Abzug and Clear Gash. Describing their sound as “Dull Music,” LEBENSHILFE combines monotonous rhythmic elements and simple song structures with dense psychedelic soundscapes, broken open by noisy guitars. Their lyrics move from inner uncertainty to the feeling of a bad trip. Their sound draws on influences such as The Velvet Underground, Spacemen 3 and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
