Salo Pallini isn't particularly interested in making the same record twice. For their second album, Some Air, the Memphis band has assembled an extraordinary cast of guest singers, with a different voice taking the lead on every song. Elliott Ives, Marcella Simien, Bailey Bigger, Walt Phelan, Jeremy Stanfill, Grant Beatty, Ben Canady, Sarah Spain, and more join the band, each bringing something entirely their own to Salo Pallini’s music. This performance brings that idea to the stage, gathering all of the voices from Some Air for one night. It’s a rare chance to hear this group of Memphis artists in the same room, backed by a band whose music was built specifically around what each singer does best. Some Air represents a deliberate departure. Where the debut had no words, the new record puts them front and center.
