A young woman deals with her vibrant mother’s Alzheimer diagnosis in this deeply moving animation adapted from Sarah Leavitt’s graphic memoir by the same name.
Set in San Francisco in the 90s, Sarah’s life is on the rise with new career opportunities and a new romance on the horizon - when her mother, Midge, is diagnosed with alzheimer’s disease. With the rest of her family struggling to come to terms with Midge’s illness, Sarah is forced to put her life on pause and turn her focus to her family.
Brought off the page in hand-drawn 2D animation and featuring the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Seth Rogen, and Bowen Yang, Tangles documents the moments of tenderness, love, humour, struggle and grief that come with caring for a family member in the face of a cruel and unrelenting disease.
